DEAR STACY: I’m so excited for the Mr. Rogers biography with Tom Hanks. Can you tell more about it? Who else is in it and when will it come out? — Darcy R.

DEAR DARCY: First, “You Are My Friend” is not a biography per se. It’s inspired by the story of Esquire writer Tom Junod’s experience when he set out to profile Rogers, an encounter that turned out to be life-changing for Junod. (Junod’s 1998 article is called “Can You Say…Hero?” and you can find it online.) Matthew Rhys plays Junod, and Chris Cooper plays Junod’s father. Marielle Heller directs. It’s slated for Oct. 19, 2019 release.

DEAR STACY: What is next for Claire Foy? — D.B.

DEAR D.B.: It’s a huge autumn for the classically trained British actress known for her Emmy-winning portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in “The Crown.” She just released “First Man” on Oct. 12, in which she plays the wife of astronaut Neil Armstrong (Ryan Gosling). Foy stars as famed computer hacker character Lisbeth Salander in the latest film to come out of of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium series, “The Girl in the Spider’s Web: A New Dragon Tattoo Story.” That’s due for Nov. 9 release in the U.S. After that, we shall have to wait and see. Foy makes interesting choices. Earlier this year, she starred in Stephen Soderbergh’s “Unsane” horror pic that was shot entirely on an iPhone 7 Plus.

DEAR STACY: With all her activism, does Alyssa Milano still act? — Sunny

DEAR SUNNY: Yes. The actress of “Charmed” and “Who’s the Boss?” fame has managed to log plenty of new credits along with her activities in the #MeToo movement. (She was seen glaring at Brett Kavanaugh from behind the judge during his hearings.) She continues her role on Netflix’ dark comedy series, “Insatiable.” Season two is coming next year. She’s also in the Netflix comedy “Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.” She is in the recently released Emma Roberts-Hayden Christensen rom-com “Little Italy.” Milano is also set to star in “Tempting Fate,” based on Jane Green’s best-selling book. No word on when that might go into production.

DEAR READERS: All good things come to an end, and this is the end of “Ask Stacy.” It’s time for this column to retire. I started “Ask Stacy” when I was 19 years old, and one of the first questions had to do with a persistent rumor that music star Cat Stevens was dying. A&M Records assured me he was fine. Today, 43 years later, the artist also known as Yusuf Islam is still alive. How’s that for being right?

I have enjoyed tracking down information for your wide range of interests, from matters such as the 14-inch height difference between Will Smith (6’2″) and wife Jada Pinkett (5′) to the cost of that crystal-covered dress Cate Blanchett wore to the Oscars in 2014 ($100,000). Thanks to the readers who submitted questions through the years. I wish I had been able to answer them all. Thanks to the papers, websites and editors. And thanks to Creators Syndicate.
